So, are your parents coming to visit you this weekend? Want to show them all that Bryan/ College Station has to offer? Well you’ve come to the right place. Here are some good places to show your parents in the area.
The Presidential library of President George Bush is a pretty cool place. They have many different exhibits during the year (right now they have an art exhibit). They offer different tours and have a museum that’s fun to walk around. The museum features many different artifacts, some of which from President Bush’s presidency. Overall, this is an enjoyable place to go spend time at and to show your folks. Their address is: 1000 George Bush Dr. W., College Station, TX 77845.
The Bonfire collapse is a very emotional day in Aggie history. 12 Aggies were killed on November 18, 1999. It is a day many Ags will always remember. To honor those that died the Bonfire Memorial was erected. Each Ag has a stone slab that faces their hometown. This is a very important place to visit to honor the Ags killed in the collapse. Here is the website for a little more information.
This place is an awesome place to visit come Christmas time. They’re open starting November 14th to January 4th. It’s a fun time to bundle up and go on a hayride with your family to look at the lights. They have a gift shop, petting zoo and a neat food court area. It’s always packed so make sure you get there early to make sure you reserve a spot.
Downtown Bryan is a pretty awesome place to show parents. It has a very old time feel to it, almost like an old Western cowboy town. There are incredible stores, like a chocolate store, an old time ice cream parlor, and many others. If your parents enjoy window-shopping in an old time town, this is the place to go.
Of course your parents want to check out the best university on the planet. You yourself can give them a good campus tour, or you can sign up to get a tour. All Aggies know that the campus is beautiful, so why not show it off? If y’all decide to get a tour by a tour guide they can tell you the history of buildings on campus. Just make sure you decide about 2 weeks before the tour so you can sign up and get a reservation.
