Triangle Lake University of Oregon

Spring is in full bloom! Oregon’s green landscapes and welcoming scenery can be hard to resist especially when your trapped in school 48+ hours a week and your head is focused on math, grammar, and staying awake. Instead of taking a load off at the usual University of Oregon party scene, celebrate the warm skies with some nature filled fun just outside of Eugene.

1. Go camping!

Grab your study buddies and relax underneath Oregon’s spectacular clear skies. Cabins and tipis are just a few non-traditional campgrounds around the country. Pack your smores, sandwiches, beer, and sleeping bags.

2. The lake.

Oregon has some amazing swimming holes including Triangle Lake, Darina, Dexter, and many more. While the rocks and warm water may welcome adventure, beware of green algae and falling on your head….seriously though!

3. The Coast.

Hello Yahatz! Florence! And, Lincoln City! These windy coasts are too much fun when the sun is out, and all you need is a day to drive there and back. These sandy shores have something everyone from sliding down sand dunes to visiting antique shops, and eating delicious clam chowder.

4. Take a drive to Portland.

Winter was hectic. There were icy roads, rainy skies, but now spring has sprung and the highways are finally clear. Portland has an array of options for beer hopping, and a variety of clothes from vintage to high-end boutiques.

5. Visit The Saturday Market

Feeling to busy or broke to get up and leave? Eugeneans love the Spring too, and will have plenty of local events to welcome the warm season. The Saturday Market hosts so many awesome local’s handmade goods, cuisine, and live music.

6. Take a Hike.

Are you looking for a quick breath of fresh air? Skinner’s Butte is a short hike with a view of the entire city.
Or perhaps, you want to escape and see it from a new perspective. The Ridgeline Trail features Spencer’s Butte. At an elevation of 2,055 feet, you’ll be able to witness Spring in Eugene for everything it has to offer.

So what are doing reading this for? Get out there and enjoy the warm weather…while it lasts.
