Zombies

In light of our beloved Walking Dead returning to AMC this weekend, I’ve taken some time to compile a small list of some of the most awesome zombie movies of all time (in no particular order, so don’t get all uppity). Pop in a movie, make some popcorn, and turn off the lights. Tis the season to be scary!

  1. Zombieland– This comedy is a fun and refreshing take on the overdone middle-of-nowhere fields full of zombies. Jesse Eisenberg’s loveable protagonist character keeps you laughing through the entire film. “Taking the Browns to the Super Bowl”-nice.
  2. 28 Days Later– This movie starts slow but once the action hits, it hits hard. Fast zombies are scary! From the ravenous and speedy undead, to the unruly military gang, this film is pure excitement.
  3. World War Z-This movie takes an interesting perspective on the zombie apocalypse. It’s not just trying to survive the zombies, no; its people going to great lengths to figure out how to stop the spread and save life on earth. Plus, Brad Pitt is dreamy with that shaggy zombie-hunter thing going on.
  4. Dawn of the Dead-Set in a shopping mall, a small group of survivors makes the best of their situation while having cool new duds at all times.
  5. Shaun of the Dead-This movie is comedic gold. From the funny English slang to the ridiculous attempts at killing zombies with records and wooden spoons, Shaun of the Dead is sure to delight anyone with a sense of humor.
  6. Night of the Living Dead-This is the film that kicked off the entire zombie genre. The original artifact, this gem is in black and white. The film really makes you think about how safe you are in your home. They’re coming to get you, Barbara. Better board up the windows NOW.
  7. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie-Although the zombies are slow, they are ruthless and terrifying. Anyone for an affinity for zombies will really enjoy this film.
  8. Flight of the Living Dead-This film is so terrible its awesome. Imagine being stuck on a long international flight when the zombies attack? There’s nowhere to go, so fasten your seatbelt and settle for some undead turbulence.

What zombie movies made your top list?
